For nearly 9 years I’ve struggled with the tensions of motherhood. I mourn the loss of time and how fleeting it all feels...desperately trying to hold on to these moments that are fading so quickly. But I also curse the hard moments...selfishly wishing them to hurry up and be over with so I can catch my breath and be myself again. These tiny humans are constantly teaching me to sit in this tension that motherhood often brings. They are imprinting all of themselves onto me...forever leaving traces of their presence both in physical touch and emotional needs. Through this series I hope to capture this tension that I often feel by documenting everyday moments with my children while wearing a hand knit shirt dyed in thermal reactive pigments in hopes to immortalize these fleeting moments.
